Audio Works Approval Permit
Media Content Services : License for Clearance of Artistic Works
The issuance of audio works permits is a process through which the content of commercial audio works is reviewed to ensure compliance with applicable laws and media content standards, and to determine the appropriate age classification. This service aims to regulate the distribution and circulation of such works within the United Arab Emirates and is intended for licensed commercial companies operating in the media sector.
Requirements
- Intellectual Property Certificate issued by the Ministry of Economy
- A copy of the audio work material or a link to the audio work content
Electronic Service Procedures
- Log in through the electronic services system
- Select the required service
- Complete all required data and upload the documents
- Submit the application
- Track the application status (approval or rejection)
- Upon approval, pay the service fees
Terms and Conditions
- The customer must provide a valid media license that includes the relevant media activities.
- The customer shall bear full legal responsibility for third-party rights in accordance with intellectual property laws and regulations.
- An electronic copy of the artistic work must be provided (uploaded to the electronic services system) or submitted in person on an electronic storage device to the nearest office of the Authority.
- A summary of the artistic work for which a release permit is to be issued must be provided.
- If the customer chooses to submit the artistic work in person on an electronic storage device to the nearest office of the Council, the work must be delivered within 30 working days. If it is not delivered within the specified period, the application will be canceled and a new application must be submitted.
- The customer must pay the service fees within 21 working days. If payment is not made within the specified period, the application will be canceled and a new application must be submitted.
- The customer undertakes that all entered data is accurate and correct, and that all attached required documents related to the service are valid, effective, and up to date, and bears full responsibility for this.
- The customer must comply with completing all requirements and take into consideration any remarks issued by the National Media Authority, if any.
- The customer must comply with media content standards and the Publications and Publishing Law.
